Plan Overview
This plan delivers the doses that menopause trials actually used: 1–2 servings of soy foods daily (the isoflavone doses shown to reduce hot flashes), 2 tablespoons of ground flaxseed daily, and ~1,200mg of calcium spread across each day. Trigger foods — caffeine, alcohol, heavy spice, refined carbs — are excluded by design.
Key principles:
- 1–2 soy servings daily (tofu, edamame, tempeh, or soy milk)
- 2 tbsp ground flaxseed daily (stirred into oats, yogurt, or smoothies)
- Calcium at every meal: dairy or fortified plant milk + greens + tofu
- 25–30g protein per meal to protect muscle mass
- No caffeine after noon, no alcohol, no chili heat, dinners light and early

Menopause Meal-Planning Tips
- Grind flax fresh weekly — pre-ground flax goes rancid; store in the fridge or freezer
- Batch-cook tofu and grains on Sunday — the plan reuses them across bowls all week
- Keep "flash-safe" flavor tools on hand — smoked paprika, cumin, turmeric, ginger, citrus, and herbs deliver depth without chili heat
- Test your caffeine sensitivity — if flashes persist, try 2 weeks fully decaf and track the difference
- Consistency beats intensity — isoflavones work over weeks of daily intake, not occasional soy
